Celebrate Bats and Luna Moths with Merlin Tuttle’s Bat Conservation!

  • Capital Cruises Dock 208 Barton Springs Road Austin, TX, 78704 United States (map)

We would like to invite Austinites to join MTBC and international artist and scientist VLM aboard the Capital Cruises!

All RSVPs for this event have been reserved.

Thanks to Merlin's life-long and continued dedication, Austin has become a world leader in demonstrating that bats make invaluable and safe neighbors and the bats are now a staple of Austin's culture. Merlin will tell stories and personally answer your bat questions. The MTBC team will also be on board to bat-chat with you.

Joined by VLM, an multimedia artist and scientist specializing in luna moths, who will share about the relation between luna moths and bats, how both species co-evolved and contribute to healthy central Texas ecosystem. She will provide live interpretive art as well.

Whether you've seen them a hundred times or never before, these bats are spectacular! However, they are wild animals and their behavior is weather-dependent. There's always a chance for a less-than-perfect viewing experience, but we will enjoy spending time together no matter what.

Bats are Austin's favorite neighbors - thanks to Merlin!
