The Roots & Wings Festival is an annual community-wide celebration of trees, pollinators, and all creatures.
The Festival is dedicated to celebrating nature in our neighborhoods. We embrace the fundamental concept that we are all connected to each other and to our local ecosystem. Growing these connections creates a stronger, more resilient and healthy community.
The Roots & Wings Festival is not one main event, it is a 16-day long series of events led by the community in neighborhoods all over Austin. Community events feature celebrations of our urban forest ecosystem (trees, butterflies, plants, fungi, soil health, pollinators, birds, bats, and more)!
In 2025, the Roots & Wings Festival helped to support almost 200 community-led events!
We are thrilled to support qualifying Community Events. The application period to participate as a Roots & Wings Festival Event Host is May to August, with grant funding available for organizations that qualify!
