Wild Neighbors: Owls of Central Texas
Wild Neighbors is a speaker series organized by Travis County Natural Resources and the City of Austin Wildlands Division. Wild Neighbors seeks to increase understanding of the natural world and our role in it. Our focus in this video is owls. Dr. Tania Homayoun of Texas Parks & Wildlife talks all about these amazing creatures, from special adaptations that make them amazing hunters, to their "relentlessly cute" owlets. The video begins with an intro about the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve from Travis County's Johanna Arendt. One clarification: Johanna accidentally said the Balcones Canyonlands are the transition zone between the Edwards Plateau and... the Edwards Plateau. She meant to say they're between the Edwards Plateau and Blackland Prairie.
